Night Hiking - Get to know yourself and surroundings in the dark
walkalongway.com™ is an established walking activity and guided walks provider throughout Pembrokeshire and West Wales.
Have you ever thought about walking through the night in the form of a Night Hike, feel the "what's that" syndrome and although you cannot always get to see the views around you there is something about walking at night that gives you a great feeling.
You cannot see your surroundings so you need to concentrate more. You have to be keener on "trusting" your senses and other members of the party, be able to read a map and use a compass. Good way to practice these skills.
The Night Hikes are usually a lot of fun and due to safety and the nature of the activity we will accompany people on these trips. Picking you up from your accommodation , or a pre arranged place at around dusk or just before we will take you to a recommended area, explain a little about the surroundings and if you feel comfortable let you lead the way. Unlike our other walking activities there in no choice on where the walk will be as, for safety reasons, there are only certain places we can take you. Hot drinks will be supplied and distance will be up to you.
We had a mention in the national newspaper Daily Telegraph, and there was a comment made about it not being a good idea walking at night, especially through farms. Well night hiking is one of our most popular activities and are planned with this in mind. We use safe unpopulated areas of West Wales, but where we do go through or near property the landowner has consented to this and no trouble is caused and the people on the walk have a great experience.
Night Hikes are run as separate excursions at £35 per person.
